EveningBook - February 22

For Today, my Daybook ...

Outside My Window…
dark...

I am thinking…
can't wait to see my good friend Lorena tomorrow - yea!

I am thankful for…
taking a long, hot shower tonight! oh, so nice!!

We are learning…
baby sign language! We have a few books, and got a DVD from the library. Now we just need to practice!

From the kitchen…
Can't seem to do any menu-planning this week. Was craving risotto, so we had that tonight. Our traditional Mardi Gras meal is steak, so that's tomorrow. Haven't been to the grocery store in over a week - good we are heading out of town this weekend!

I am wearing…
my comfy white bathrobe - see "what I'm thankful for" above!

I am creating…
how to make Lent meaningful to myself and my family...

I am going…
to San Marcos tomorrow - yea! We haven't seen Lorena and Sebastian since November!! Then off to Mama and Grandpa's this weekend! May throw in a few walks and storytime at the library.

I am reading…
catching up on my magazines and some baby sign language books

I am hoping…
that I can make this a holy Lent for myself. Seems like it passes so quickly, and before I know it, it is time for Easter.

Around the house…
doing lots of clearing out - thanks to flylady missions, just like last week!

One of my favorite things…
carrying Nate in the backpack, getting all my chores done, and he is totally happy!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:
San Marcos, walks, Ft. Worth...

Here is a picture thought I am sharing…well, need to wait to upload 'em from this weekend....

7 months!

Yea! Nate is 7 months old!! I've had this "do Nate's 7 month update" on my to-do list for a couple weeks! He's napping, so now's a good a time as any.

Well, month 7 has been fun! I think our biggest achievement has been eating solids! We've tried rice cereal, oat cereal, and sweet potatoes, and carrots. He also moved from the pack 'n' play in our room to his crib and is doing great! We finally have a bed time routine that works, and can even put him in his crib awake to go to bed and take naps. yea!! Nate's also doing a great job holding things and transferring them from hand to hand. We had a great visit with both sets of grandparents, and remembered Daddy when he returned. Tummy time is going well, and we roll over on occasion. I've also noticed a big change in how he sits in his high chair - no leaning. He's even done a flip off the chair in his room. And to finish the month - the Steelers won the Super Bowl! What could be better?

Here are a few pics from this month.

playdate...

A couple weeks ago we had 5 boys in our house under the age of 2! It was great! They were the Lange boys (Christopher - almost 2 and Sam - 4 months) and the K boys (John - almost 2 and Drew - 5 months). Here are some highlight pics! We gotta do this again Paula and Robin!

A simple moment...

This morning, I was carrying Nate up the stairs. About halfway, I stopped and told Nate how heavy he's getting. He looked at me, placed his hands on both sides of my face, and gave me a huge kiss.

I love being a mom! This is the best! What could be better? Thanks Nate!

daybook...

A couple of my friends (Jenny and Jenny) are doing this Daybook, and I thought it looked interesting. Here we go! I think it is supposed to occur on Monday's but I forgot!

Outside My Window…
The cul-de-sac is clear, looks cool outside. Nice and sunny, a good day to do errands!

I am thinking…
Nate's been napping for almost an hour! Yea!

I am thankful for…
being able to stay home with Nate. It is soo wonderful seeing him grow and change everyday. I truly believe this is the best time of my life (so far, at least).

We are learning…
Seems like Nate has had some allergies, probably to food. So, we are starting over with the solids. I've purchased a few books, so we'll see what we can do!

From the kitchen…
My weekly menu planning is going great. I think it has to do that I got a great cookbook for Christmas, and Ry got me a 12 in Calphalon pan - which is super! I just love cooking. This week we have sloppy jo's, butternut squash soup, chicken stir-fry wraps, spicy black bean cakes and pizza night on Friday!

I am wearing…
jeans and my pink Smithsonian shirt, which I got just about a year ago when we were in DC.

I am creating…
working on Nate's 7 month blog post and email to family.

I am going…
to not get overwhelmed, and try to stick to doing just 1 thing on my to-do list!

I am reading…
Baby food books, how interesting! Still have The Shack on my nightstand...

I am hoping…
that Nate's rash clears up!

Around the house…
Need to do my blessing hour and have the house decent for mom's group here on Thursdsay.

One of my favorite things…
drinking my mocha while Nate played with his spoon this morning! Soo cute!!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:
Grocery store today - going down to Sun Harvest! Then walking with Shana and Thomas tomorrow, and Mom's prayer group here on Thursday. Yesterday we had a fun lunch with Sharon and Gianna!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing…truly shows how our family has changed!
