5 months...
Well, I'm finally updating this...as we head out for Christmas! Yea, Ry has 2 weeks off!! We are super-excited! Nate has also put on over 2 pounds in the past month, so we've "graduated" from the lactation consultant. Feeding every 2 1/2 hours (and sometime just 2), pumping, and supplementing with formula have taken most of my time.
Seems like I haven't posted since Halloween (oh my goodness), and narrowed down the photos to the top 22! Let's see if I can put 'em in order!
Nate, on occasion, has rolled over. I caught it too!
We headed to Brenham to visit tia Lorena in November. She lives in Houston, so we like to meet midway. This has been my longest solo trip with Nate and he did great!
For thanksgiving we hosted my parents, Ry's parents, my sister and 2 of my cousins. The house was full, and we had a wonderful time.
We even had a nice, cold day that we got to wear our snow suit (although the "snow" just stuck to the roof)
Papa had a big birthday this month - the big 60! Here we are with him and great-uncle Charlie
We had fun at my brother's graduation from NMSU. Nate's first trip out of state (and we drove!)
And Nate's new hobby, frowning
And some photos in front of our Christmas tree
Nate and our next door neighbor Cal. He's just a few weeks older than Nate...what buds they will be!
We'll see if I can post over the holidays! From our family to yours - Merry Christmas and to a mighty fine 2009!

a great gift...
Ry posted on his blog what he wants to give Nate...looks good to us! Check it out here!
slacker...
I feel like such a slacker! Seems like ages since I've posted! This past month has been crazy - trying to get Nate some weight on, having the family for Thanksgiving, prepping for Christmas and heading to Waco and New Mexico the last couple weekends...
Guess I have an excuse...will post some pics on my cutie soon - he's gained over 2 lbs in the past month! Changes abound!

Texas weather!
It's crazy - it was in the 80's yesterday and now I have snow on my roof! Oh that Texas weather!
Working on Nate's 5 month post! Hopefully will get that done tonight...
Keep warm!

17, 18 and 19 weeks...
Okay, I thought I would not do the weekly thing, but I can't stop! Just took me a bit to get this done!! Can't keep up with the day-to-day record, though.
Hmmm... these past few weeks... Had fun with the weather now getting cool. Nate looks super-cute in long sleeves!
Went to our first Halloween party (of 3) with the mom's group at church. It was fun being around all the kids. We also went on a walk with the Gretencord's (and had our first romp down the slide), and then found the Higgins' family, and Thuy invited us for lunch. I think that was the best tortilla soup in awhile. I've decided to try a new soup recipe each week - what are your favorites?
Nate's been having a little trouble sleeping. I think it is just because it gets colder at night. I just bring him close and he goes back to sleep. How do y'all keep the kids warm?
We also had another Halloween party with our neighbors, and then one at our house on Halloween - The 2nd Annual Dobson/Williams Halloween bash. We had fun! At least I got to drink (well, just 1 glass of sangria) this year.
These past couple weeks also included 2 baptisms (Sam's and Joshua's), our 4 month appointment (doing well, Nate just needs to put on some more weight) and a couple lactation consultant visits. We have found out that I need to make more milk, and I'm taking some herbs to help. They are not doing the kick, so we are now supplementing a bit with formula. Hopefully in a few weeks Nate will be back on track and I'll be making more milk.
Nate also ROLLED OVER!! Yea! He didn't like tummy time on Saturday, November 8th, so he just kept rolling on his back. He also is serenading us in the car (with or without the radio) and has found his tongue this week. What a fun time!!
Here are pics from week 17 and 18:

feeling all grown up...
We did it - we bough a freezer! Well, it was the smallest at Sam's, but we now have one.
And the reason...we purchased a quarter of a calf! Yes, a happy calf raised up near Granger. Good grass-fed beef! Soo yummy! Ry made the best burgers!! Can't wait to try the steaks, roasts and other cuts! Any recipe suggestions?

4 month update...
Well, Nate had his 4 month check-up this week! He is growing in length but hasn't put on much weight. We visited with the lactation consultant and now I am on some herbs, pumping, increasing my protein and liquids, and on a 2 to 2 1/2 hour feeding schedule (and sometimes more often). Hopefully this will help him put on a few pounds. Please say a few extra prayers that we can get this under control.
The pediatrician wasn't very worried - developmentally he is exactly where he should be, and he is growing. We'll see what pans out in the coming weeks.
