So, in the last couple days Nate has started pulling up on us. I have a feeling he may want to walk before he crawls! oh no!
He also rolled to get to his desired location (the printer stand) yesterday. Finding out his body has motion...interesting!
fun stuff! I have a feeling he may start crawling while we are on vacation...

newest gadgets!
I love trying new items, and now that I'm the "domestic engineer", I have found some to make my life easier. Here are a few of my new favorites. Feel free to comment on yours!
1. Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel - this stuff is super great! You just put it in the toilet bowl and it cleans with every flush. And the toilets smell super clean! And no scrubbing!
2. Ziploc Zip 'n Steam bags - these are super great! A great way to steam veggies, and no need to add water. Has instructions right on the bag to tell you how long to cook. Made potatoes in them this week and in 7 minutes they were perfect! Also used 'em for asparagus and doing carrots tonight!
3. Reynolds Handi-Vac - I've been trying to prep meals ahead, and this is great! We bought 1/4 of a cow last fall, and this has been a great way to reseal the meat to save it for a future use. Gave one to my mother-in-law and she just loves hers!
So, those are my top new items. Can't wait to see what yours are!!

Our little 8 month old...
Everyone told me that you would forget how your baby looked or acted when they were younger. I didn't believe them. I was going to be a good mom - I would remember. And now I find myself forgetting. Forgetting how he acted when he was younger, how he slept, how he ate, and how he moved. Soo glad I have this blog! Everyone has their own way of remembering - baby books, baby calendars (I've tried...), notebooks, blogs, annual letters (almost done with 2008), etc. Everytime I hear about one, I think "that's a great idea" and "I should do that", but I don't. I do take pictures, and I try to at least monthly put up info on our little one, so that's good. To each their own, and I cannot keep second guessing on my own way!
This past month has been the month of eating! yea! We've been trying it all - sweet potatoes, butternut squash, carrots, pears, bananas, apples, and probably a few more I forgot. I've tried to cook some myself, and bought some too. Any suggestions on some good baby cookbooks - I love cookbooks! Nate is a super good eater and we just love to see what face he will give us when we try new foods! He especially likes the puffs - and is mastering the small motor skills needed to pick 'em up. Charlie doesn't leave his side - he likes 'em too!
This month started off with our team (well, one of our teams - go Cowboys) winning the Super Bowl. Yea Steelers! The bad part is that football is over. I'm surprised how much Nate likes it - we'll see how he enjoys it when he is a year old.
Nate's also been blowing his lips together, and on occasion making kissing sounds. Mama showed him how to bang two things together, so he constantly seeing what he can clang together. He sits up quite well, and is reaching for stuff. Tummy time is fun, although we haven't started crawling yet - but we roll over on occasion. We do realize now when things are gone, and don't like it when Mom takes something away. He's also got the up and down motion down that the Aggie yell leaders do - maybe he'll be a future one! Better get video of that! He's been drinking from a sippy cup - but like a glass better! Thanks grandmas! He's also taken to cocking his head to the side (I think he learned it from the dog). Super cute!
Nate's little second cousin Lia will probably be born in the next week or so. She's not due until the 31st, so please keep her and mommy Kelly in your prayers! Thanks!
Here are a few favorite photos from this month!
