Halloween party!

Last weekend we had our 4th annual Dobson-Williams' Halloween party!  It was awesome!  Fog filled the house and yard, we had tons of carved pumpkins (I did 5), and everyone got into our "theme" of movies!

Here are a few of our favorites!

12 weeks...

Okay, we are a bit tardy in this posting... Life has been busy in the house! Nate and I have gone on walks, had lunches with friends, a baby shower, a birthday party and more!

Nate is growing up! He's looking less like a newborn and more like a baby - round checks, chubby thighs, etc. He's still loves to play airplane - if nothing else works to calm him down, that will. And my arms are getting a workout too! He's also not content just sitting - now he wants to stand. This boy may walk before he crawls!! He's also enjoying his hands. Especially when a finger finds its way into his mouth!

This week's events:
Day 77 - went on a walk with Mrs. Nicholson and Thomas
Day 78 - went to my mom's spiritual group. Nate loved looking at all the kids! Had a yummy lunch with Kelly neni.
Day 79 - Nate's really mastering holding up his head well. No need to support in while going up and down the stairs.
Day 80 - We went to a baby shower for Mrs. Garcia. Mrs. Gretencord was one of the hosts and posts about it here (she's much faster than me!) We also went to Mrs. Higgins birthday party - and what a fun them - make food that looks like something else. We made meatloaf cupcakes with mashed potato frosting.
Day 81 - Nate has taken to holding Daddy's thumb. Very cute! We also went to a local Steelers bar where Nate was able to watch the game. Boy does that kid like football!!
Day 82 - Went to our Mornings With Mommy today. Also borrowed a swing from Mrs. Gretencord. Nate is not to sure of it yet...
Day 83 - Nana came to visit today. Daddy left for another business trip, and Nana is here for the week. Yea!

10 weeks!

We have moved to double digits!! Yea! Nate is doing great - growing and changing every day!! He's having much more fun with his hands - is surprised when they make it into his mouth. He's moving them around alot - not boxing anymore - now it's karate chopping!!

We've had lots of fun this week - Mommy's prayer group, Nate's 1st Steelers and Cowboys games, attending Gianna's birthday party and up to Ft. Worth to see Mama and Grandpa.

This week's events:
Day 63 - I finally cook my first multi-course meal since Nate has been born! Ry is quite surprised!! Had to open a bottle of wine to celebrate. Have to thank my meal prep place, the Studio Kitchen. I love that place!! I still have some frozen meals in the freezer!
Day 64 - We went to our first Mommy's prayer group today. Nate was excited to see Thomas - I think he is finally recognizing him!
Day 65 - Went and heard live music at Uncle Justin's church. Nate loved it!! And he slept through the night!
Day 66 - Caught Nate trying to put his entire fist in his mouth. I think he is surprised that it got there!
Day 67 - If one thumb is good, 2 must be better, right? Nate had both thumbs in his mouth when we went to brunch with our friends Alisa and Kevin. Nate also watched is first Steeler and Cowboys games today - and both won! yea!
Day 68 - We went to Gianna's 1st Birthday party today. Since today is also Mary, the Mother of God's birthday, Mrs. Gretencord had lots of fun, Marian activities. Can't wait for Nate to participate in them.
Day 69 - We drove up to Ft. Worth today to spend the week with my parents. Ry is leaving tomorrow for his first business trip. He'll be back on Friday.

Since I'm in Ft. Worth now, I will post the photos from the week on Sunday.

Check out what Ry has found for the blog - you can see on the "Recent Readers Map" where my readers are coming from. At least now I know where you blog stalkers are from :-)

7 weeks...

A friend of mine told me this week that the days are long but the years are short. How true she is! Some days seem like they will never end - the diapers, changing clothes, nursing, chores, etc. But then I think of how old Nate is now, and time seems to fly by.

We've been having lots of fun watching the Olympics. Having Tivo seems to be the only way - pausing, rewinding, and fast-forwarding! And what else can I watch at 3 am?

This week Nate has begun shadow-boxing. I am thinking only in a matter of days will he find his hands! It's been fun to watch him do this, until he smacks himself in the head! I've also been worried this week that I haven't been taking enough photos...I think I'm doing okay. Ry also updated our website with more pics too!

Our week's events:
Day 42 - Nate goes out for girls night! We went to a great neighborhood place, It's Italian, and Nate was the hit of the restaurant - cooing and all with everyone there. I'm also proud to say that I took Nate out by myself to run some errands today. He did a good job, and I think 3 stores are our limit! Had to treat myself to Starbucks!
Day 43 - Had another great meal tonight! Thanks Paula for the great ham and potatoes! I need to get that recipe from you!! Everyone has brought us such yummy food!
Day 44 - Nate's godmother, my sister Tessa, came to visit for the weekend! Had her even changing diapers! Nate and I also went to the grocery store for the first time on our own, before she came. He did great - all I need now is help bringing in the groceries! We did take Nate to Kohl's for some clothes shopping and Tessa had him in the Baby Bjorn. Everyone thought he was hers!!
Day 45 -Party day!! We celebrated Andrew Morgan's baptism this morning (he was due the same week as Nate and is a few weeks older) and then went to an engagement party for my former boss Laurie and her fiancee Eric.
Day 46 - Nate has begun blowing bubbles. How cute!
Day 47 - Much more shadow boxing today! Yea!
Day 48 - Went to his first luncheon today and he did a great job. Was the hit at the event (the last time most of the people had seen me was when I was pregnant). Took dinner to the Gretencord's and had a nice visit with them.

My friend Amy let me borrow a great book, How to Photograph Your Baby. We've decided to try a lesson a week, so here is what we learned this week - getting up close, natural light and shadows!

Pumpkin's Dallas Baby Shower...

This past weekend, we had our first baby shower in Dallas! It was lots of fun! We did some traditional games, like "guess the chocolate bar in the diaper" and "clothespin game" - where you can't say baby, pregnancy or cute! Amy also make a cute bingo game (kinda like at our wedding shower). She also asked the guests to bring a pack of diapers or wipes, and they were entered into a drawing for a cute basket (and we got lots of diapers and wipes! yea!).

It was hosted by 3 great friends from my time in Aggieland, Traci, Amy, and Bernice.

Both grandmothers also made it to the party (my mom on the left, Ry's on the right). Amy was sweet to give them each a present - a grandmother's brag book!

Also had our token baby at the shower (hi Andrew).

And a few of us Aggies (check out those cool rings!).

And our token Longhorn. Thanks for being such a good sport Dawn.

We stayed the night with my friend Amy and her family. Here I am with her daughters Ashleigh and Michelle, our goddaughter. Thanks everyone for such a great weekend!! Pumpkin's room is getting nicely stocked!
